More and more users do business on their mobile phones these days. The true purpose of responsive web design is to make websites easily navigable across devices. If you take advantage of responsive web design, your business can have a new set of customers. You can gear business towards those people who aren’t always near a computer. Using web design effectively allows you to capitalize on the technology of the time to gain all the customers you can. There is a significant difference between the display size of PCs and that of mobile phones and tablets. Google gives favor to older websites. The age of your domain counts when it comes to ranking your website on Google, and older is better. This is because older websites are generally more established and are trusted more by Google users than when a website is brand new.

However, this isn’t to say that brand new small business websites won’t show up in Google’s search results. This is especially the case if you target keywords that aren’t very competitive. But if your market is saturated and your website is a year old or less, you’ll be waiting quite some time to get on the first page of Google.


When it comes to choosing your keywords, you don’t always want to choose the most popular. The more popular a keyword is, the more difficult it can be to appear on the first page of Google.

The idea is to find the sweet spot with your target keywords. Use keyword research tools such as SEMRush or Google’s Keyword Planner tool to get an in-depth look at how specific keywords will work for you. Stay away from keywords that are overly competitive or too broad.

 The best use of keywords is to ensure that they are highly optimized for your audience. This means the keywords are:

*Specific and don’t have to compete with broad keywords for the first-page spot
*Make the concepts of your content clear
*Targeted to attract people interested in what you’re offering
*Valuable Content

Even if you’re a small startup with a very small reach, good content will always be found over poor content. Good content is shared, posted, tweeted, and that’s when people will make their way back to you.


You need to be able to quantify how your site is performing and what key metrics to use to determine the success (or failure) of your website. It is only once you have this information that you can truly strategize to improve those metrics, or if that's not possible with the current setup, begin undertaking the strategic steps necessary to redesign your site with those goals in mind.

Busy is good!

Been busy around here lately! No real time to blog. As the CEO, I have found my job consistently more challenging. Going on our 20th year my journey has been beyond incredible. We have learned, progressed, adapted and are still ahead of the technology wave today! Websnare has never been stronger. We have proven our worth in multiple projects during the 2016 1st Quarter and see the 2nd and 3rd Quarters looking bright! Lots of important work to be done! Websnare, Inc. really does have the best team on the planet! Websnare consistently amazes me. One of the latest issues we are having as a firm: Many, yes tons, of businesses and independents could benefit from our focus. We are a team of between 15-25 people (it fluctuates) - and we want to help everyone, but lately we have had to make some tough decisions about who gets our attention. This is especially true in certain sectors of business where the client certainly does not want their competition gaining the same edge. We have had to choose whom we would like to help. This is a newer issue for our firm. It shows we have matured and recognize the value of our focus and launches. We certainly are not capable of assisting all who need our help - we certainly do very much want to help. Grateful for our team, my friends and family and our mutual focus.
